U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance to Visit India with Usha Vance

U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance is set to visit India soon, accompanied by his wife, Second Lady Usha Vance. The visit is likely to take place at the end of this month. This will be Vance’s second foreign trip since assuming office. His first international visit was to France and Germany.

Usha Vance has Indian roots, as her parents, Krish Chilukuri and Lakshmi Chilukuri, are Telugu immigrants who moved to the U.S. in the 1970s. This will be her first visit to India in an official capacity as the Second Lady of the United States.

Usha and J.D. Vance met while studying at Yale Law School. She has worked as a litigator and served as a clerk for U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice John G. Roberts. She also worked under Judge Brett Kavanaugh at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia. Usha holds a bachelor's degree from Yale University and a master’s degree from Cambridge University.
