U.S. President Donald Trump has made another significant decision regarding American citizenship. He has introduced a new concept for investor-based citizenship, naming it the "Gold Card." Trump announced that anyone investing approximately $5 million (around Rs 44 crores) in the U.S. will be eligible for this special "Gold Card" visa.
This policy, which is aimed at attracting investors, was revealed by Trump, who stated that this would provide a path for wealthy individuals to contribute to the country's economy. The Gold Card visa holders would have the opportunity to become financially prosperous in the U.S. and pay taxes to the government. According to Trump, this visa would also grant benefits similar to a Green Card, paving the way for a path to American citizenship.
Trump emphasized that this initiative would bring in skilled and wealthy individuals to the country, benefiting both them and the U.S. government. He stated that further details would be revealed in the next two weeks. The announcement was made during an event at the Oval Office, where Trump signed the executive order in the presence of Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.
This concept mirrors similar schemes used by over 100 countries worldwide, including Greece, Malta, and Italy, which provide visas to wealthy individuals in exchange for significant investments. Trump’s new initiative follows a similar model.
