New York Helicopter Crash: Six Dead Including Children

A tragic helicopter crash occurred in New York City, resulting in the death of six people. The helicopter went down in the Hudson River, and videos of the crash have gone viral on social media.

According to reports, the incident took place at 3:17 PM (local time) on Thursday. A Bell-206 helicopter crashed into the Hudson River near downtown Manhattan. Authorities confirmed that all six passengers onboard died in the crash, including the pilot’s family.

Among the victims were Siemens Spain CEO Agustin Escobar, his wife, and their three children. The helicopter had taken off from the Downtown Manhattan Heliport before it went down.

Emergency teams responded swiftly to the scene, launching rescue operations with the help of boats. Firefighters stated that the helicopter was found submerged upside down in the river. Officials suspect that a mechanical failure occurred mid-air, as part of the helicopter reportedly broke off before the crash.

The crash near West Side Highway and Spring Street caused heavy traffic congestion in surrounding areas. Videos of the incident are widely circulating on social media platforms.
