Bangladesh is facing yet another crisis as Myanmar-based rebels reportedly took control of approximately 275 km of the border region.
The affected areas, including Teknaf and other adjoining territories, have become flashpoints, with reports suggesting that rebel groups have halted trade services and imposed restrictions in these zones.
This adds to Bangladesh’s ongoing economic challenges, including a struggling economy, failing banking sector, and industrial shutdowns due to electricity shortages. The recent incursion has heightened tensions, with Bangladesh facing mounting pressure to secure its borders and address internal instability simultaneously.
