Most Awaited: Trump's First Debate With Kamala

U.S. Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has agreed to a debate with Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris on September 4 as announced on Truth Social.

Trump indicated the debate's format will be similar to his previous debate with President Joe Biden, who has since withdrawn from the race. 

Initially Trump suggested a major town hall if Harris was unavailable, but this proposal was later removed.

Harris had previously accepted a debate invitation from Fox News for September 17.

After Biden's exit and endorsement of Harris on July 21 Trump initially refused to debate her questioning her legitimacy and lack of support from former President Obama. 

However Obama endorsed Harris the following day, and she has since secured the Democratic nomination.
