Israel's Intense Attack: 550 Dead

Israel and Hezbollah seem to be moving toward a full-scale war as Israel continued its attacks on southern Lebanon on Tuesday. These strikes have resulted in around 558 deaths and hundreds of injuries.

In response, temporary shelters for displaced individuals have been set up in Lebanese cities such as Beirut and Sidon. Hotels are fully booked, and room prices have skyrocketed. Many displaced people are forced to sleep in parks and cars. Lebanon’s Health Minister, Firas Abiad, stated that 558 people have been killed and 1,835 injured in the past two days due to Israeli strikes, with 54 hospitals treating the wounded. Among the dead were four paramedics, while 16 paramedics and firefighters were injured.

Hezbollah Commander Killed

Israel's military announced the killing of Ibrahim Mohammad Qabisi, a key commander of Hezbollah's missile and rocket forces, in an airstrike in Beirut. Several other central commanders were also killed. Qabisi had been responsible for planning and executing numerous attacks on Israeli forces.

Iron Dome Neutralizes Hezbollah Rockets

Hezbollah fired 200 rockets at Israel on Monday night, targeting areas like Haifa and Jezreel Valley. Israel’s Iron Dome defense system intercepted and destroyed the rockets mid-air, with footage of the event being shared by the Israeli Foreign Ministry.

40 Years of Conflict Between Israel and Lebanon

The animosity between Israel and Lebanon dates back 40 years. Israel invaded Lebanon in the early 1980s to dismantle the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO), initially achieving success by ousting the PLO from Beirut. In 1983, Hezbollah was formed with Iranian support and became one of Israel's primary enemies. Specializing in guerrilla warfare and covert operations, Hezbollah frequently targets Israel within and outside Lebanon. Over the decades, Israel has continued to neutralize Hezbollah militants.
