The unrest in Canada has gained widespread attention, especially after the recent temple attack by Khalistanis there. When asked to comment on this issue, some Sikhs in India have shared their perspectives.
Here are a few:
"Khalistanis are engaging in violent acts in Canada, something they rarely attempt in India due to strong governance and the peaceful camaraderie between Hindus and Sikhs in India", said Balwant Singh from Delhi.
"Khalistanis in Canada seem to have an agenda to escalate violence. They attacked a Hindu temple in Canada today, possibly attempting to provoke Hindus in India into retaliating by targeting gurdwaras. However, such retaliation is unlikely given the current state of affairs in India. We all Sikhs and Hindus live peacefully in India", said Rajinder Kaur from Chandigarh.
When asked about the Khalistani demand for a separate state, Kuldeep Kaur, a resident of Chandigarh, commented, "I believe that Khalistanis are genuinely working towards establishing a separate nation for themselves in Canada. Perhaps what isn't achievable in India could become a reality there."
