Hindu Woman Appointed as U.S. National Intelligence Director

Donald Trump won the U.S. presidential election and has since made a series of notable appointments. He has already included Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy in his cabinet and recently appointed Hindu MP Tulsi Gabbard as the Director of National Intelligence. Trump described Gabbard as a "proud Republican" and emphasized that she enjoys bipartisan support, expressing confidence that she will make Americans proud.

Who is Tulsi Gabbard?

Tulsi Gabbard served nearly two decades in the U.S. Army National Guard, with deployments in Iraq and Kuwait, though she has no direct experience in intelligence. She served on the Homeland Security Committee and was a Congresswoman from Hawaii from 2013 to 2021. Gabbard, who practices Hinduism, made her oath on the Bhagavad Gita in Congress. In 2020, she ran for the Democratic presidential nomination but later withdrew due to lack of support.

During the 2020 campaign, Gabbard played a key role in preparing Trump for a debate against Kamala Harris. Her strong stance against Harris during the Democratic primaries made her a prominent figure, leading to speculation about a significant role if Trump won the election. Following his victory, Trump appointed her as Director of National Intelligence.
