Action Must Be Taken Against Them: Modi's Clear Message to Canadian PM

India has made it clear after a meeting with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in Vientiane that there was no substantial discussion between the two leaders.

India reiterated its expectations that pro-Khalistan activities in Canada should not be promoted and that strict action should be taken against those supporting anti-India violence, extremism, and terrorism from Canadian soil, which, according to India, has been lacking so far.

India emphasized that the growing nexus of these elements with organized crime, drug syndicates, and human trafficking should be a concern for both India and Canada.

The Indian government highlighted the importance of its relationship with Canada but firmly stated that unless the Canadian government takes decisive and credible actions against those conspiring to spread hate, misinformation, communal tensions, and violence against India, no improvement in relations can be expected.

Progress in strengthening ties between the two countries, India said, would only be possible if the Canadian government acts against individuals involved in anti-India activities.
