Yogi Opens Up On 'Islamisation Of India'

Yogi Adityanath, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh accused the Congress of aiming to give Muslim reservations from the OBC quota in Karnataka, alleging it was part of a plan for "Islamisation and division."

He claimed this move would deprive Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and other backward classes of their rights. In Karnataka, all Muslim communities are listed as backward classes.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP leaders criticized Congress for this, but Congress denied the allegations.

Adityanath also recalled previous attempts by the UPA government to allocate OBC reservation to Muslims. He warned against Congress' alleged plans including imposing an 'Inheritance Tax' to benefit outsiders.

Adityanath criticized Congress for politicizing issues. He praised the people's rejection of Congress in 2014.

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah defended the reservation for Muslims, citing a long standing policy based on backward class commission reports. The BJP government in Karnataka attempted to revoke Muslim reservations but it faced legal challenges.
