Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin criticized the BJP, accusing them of flip-flopping on the Katchatheevu issue ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
"Prime Minister Narendra Modi does not have the guts to neither condemn Sri Lanka over fishermen arrests nor oppose China on its claims over Arunachal Pradesh. When that is the case how can he talk about Katchatheevu?" Stalin asked.
Stalin questioned Modi's credibility in addressing the Katchatheevu matter when he hasn't addressed these larger issues.
Stalin, speaking at an election rally, accused Modi of theatricality and misinformation regarding Katchatheevu, particularly regarding disclosures made under RTI, which he deemed misleading and concerning national security.
The Indian government's shifting stance on Katchatheevu from declaring it not part of India to seeking its return through drastic measures was criticized.
Stalin challenged Modi's silence on Katchatheevu during his foreign visits and questioned if he had ever pursued its return during his Sri Lanka trip.
