On May 20 during the fifth phase of the Lok Sabha elections voters in 14 constituencies of Uttar Pradesh cast their ballots.
A notable achievement was recorded in Solda village of the Lalitpur constituency where a 100% voter turnout was achieved.
A polling official highlighted the administration's efforts to ensure every voter participated including arranging transportation for a voter to fly in from Bengaluru and be driven to the village in a government vehicle.
The official expressed gratitude to both the polling staff and the villagers for their full participation stating their happiness with the turnout.
According to the Election Commission, voter turnout varied across constituencies: Amethi had 52.68%, Banda 57.38%, Barabanki 64.86%, Faizabad 57.36%, Fatehpur 54.56%, Gonda 50.21%, Hamirpur 57.83%, Jalaun 53.73%, Jhansi 61.18%, Kaisarganj 53.92%, Kaushambi 50.65%, Lucknow 49.88%, Mohanlalganj 60.10%, and Rae Bareli 56.26%.
Over 2.71 crore voters were eligible to vote in these constituencies, with 144 candidates contesting. Voting commenced at 7 am and continued until 6 pm
