Owaisi Seeks Blessings From Brahmin Priests

The stronghold of Asaduddin Owaisi appears to be faltering. The catalyst for this shift is Madhavi Latha, who is contesting on behalf of the BJP.

This has prompted Owaisi to take new actions previously unseen.

Asaduddin Owaisi has never projected himself as secular, instead, he has been perceived as a staunch, fundamentalist, pro-Muslim leader.

Traditionally, he has greeted others with the Muslim 'adaab' style, raising a single hand, rather than the Hindu custom of folding hands in greeting.

However, in his campaign in the Hyderabad LS constituency as the AIMIM candidate, he has been observed seeking the blessings of Brahmin priests near a temple.

The priests greeted him with a garland, and Owaisi responded by bowing and folding his hands. He even took photographs with them.

Locals find this change in Asaduddin Owaisi's behavior shocking. It appears he is adopting these gestures to prevent a shift of Hindu votes from AIMIM to BJP.

This is seen as a damage control measure, especially as the BJP candidate in the region is making a strong effort to polarize Hindu votes, something unprecedented in the past.
