Nitin Gadkari a senior leader of the BJP and Union minister fainted while giving a speech at a political rally in Yavatmal of Maharashtra.
The incident was captured on video and shared on social media. He was helped off the stage by BJP members.
Gadkari is now under the care of doctors and reports say he is in a stable condition.
He was campaigning for Rajashree Patil who is the candidate for the Yavatmal-Washim seat in the Lok Sabha elections.
This is not the first time Gadkari has fainted in public. A similar incident occurred five years ago at a university event in Ahmednagar which is also in Maharashtra.
Both instances happened in the same state coincidentally.
