'Mujra' Controversy: INDIA Bloc Criticizes Modi's Language

'Mujra' Controversy: INDIA Bloc Criticizes Modi's Language

Leaders of the INDIA bloc criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday for accusing the Opposition of 'enslavement' and performing 'mujra' for the Muslim vote bank during rallies in Bihar.

Modi claimed that the INDIA bloc intends to strip SCs, STs and OBCs of their rights and redirect them to Muslims.

Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera and Trinamool Congress MP Saket Gokhale condemned Modi’s use of the word 'mujra' questioning his state of mind and accusing him of using cheap language.

Manoj Jha of the RJD expressed concern over Modi's remarks calling it the language unbefitting of a Prime Minister.

Samajwadi Party spokesperson Fakhrul Hasan Chaand said that the BJP’s use of such terms indicates their desperation as they face electoral defeat.

Modi also accused the Opposition of hurting Bihar's migrants with insulting remarks and relying on 'vote jihad'.

He further claimed that the Opposition plans to change the Constitution to divert reservations to Muslims challenging them to deny this in writing which they have not done.
