Jailed CM's Wife Contests In Election Challenging BJP

Jharkhand Mukti Morcha's move to nominate Kalpana Soren, the wife of former Chief Minister Hemant Soren for the Gandey Assembly bypoll has sparked political discussions. Her candidature stands on sympathy following Hemant Soren's arrest. 

Kalpana is expected to be a strong contender highlighting her strong education background and opposition to the BJP.

The bypoll on May 20 coinciding with state parliamentary elections marks a crucial electoral battle. Hemant Soren's legal troubles which particularly his arrest by the Enforcement Directorate in a money laundering case linked to a land scam propelled Kalpana into active politics. 

Her vocal opposition to the BJP expressed through impassioned speeches has gained attention within the JMM.

Despite her husband's absence Kalpana shared a sentimental message on their 18th wedding anniversary, expressing confidence in his eventual return. 

Amid the legislative drama she conveyed optimism through Hemant Soren's Twitter account by portraying herself as a supportive partner in his struggle for Jharkhand's identity.
