BJP Leader's Birthday In Police Station

A viral video on social media platform X questioned Ahmedabad Police's conduct in Gujarat. 

It showed police personnel allegedly celebrating local BJP leader Himanshu Chauhan's birthday inside a police station with Deputy Commissioner Kanan Desai singing 'Happy Birthday' in uniform. 

The video shared widely on June 28 sparked criticism from netizens and opposition Congress leaders who accused the police of turning the station into a 'party hall' for BJP leaders. 

Although Gujarat Police claimed the cake cutting was for a blood donation event the video clearly showed people singing 'Happy Birthday'. 

Congress leaders including Amit Chavda and former president Jagdish Thakor, shared the video to criticize the BJP government questioning whether police stations funded by taxpayers were meant for law enforcement or party celebrations. 

They demanded answers from the state government highlighting perceived misuse of police resources.
