The Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government is preparing to take strict action against the increasing incidents of food contamination through spitting. To address this issue, the government is set to introduce a new law. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will hold a meeting with officials regarding two proposed ordinances: the "Prevention of Malicious and Anti-Harmony Activities and Prohibition of Spitting Ordinance 2024" and the "UP Prevention of Contamination in Food (Consumer Right to Know) Ordinance 2024."
These ordinances will impose strict punishments for those found guilty of contaminating food through spitting. Additionally, they will ensure consumers have the right to know all details about the food they consume, including where and how it is prepared.
This move comes as part of the government's efforts to provide transparency and uphold the safety and rights of consumers in Uttar Pradesh.
