In a landmark decision, the Uttar Pradesh government, led by CM Yogi Adityanath, has announced plans to construct Gaushalas (cow shelters) on "enemy properties" across the state.
Enemy properties are assets left behind by individuals who opted for citizenship in Pakistan or China following India's partition and the 1962 war.
Uttar Pradesh has the largest number of such properties, totaling approximately 6,017. This move is seen as both a strategic and cultural initiative by the state government.
