Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has compared opposition leaders to Pigs and Vulture while responding to their criticism of the management of the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj. Speaking in the legislative assembly, Adityanath said, "At the Maha Kumbh, everyone got what they wanted. The Vulture found dead bodies, the dogs pigs filth. Delicate souls found beautiful bonds and connections, businessmen found opportunities, and devotees had clean arrangements."
His remarks came in response to the intense criticism from the opposition regarding the death of 18 people in a stampede during the Maha Kumbh. "You (opposition members) said that people from a particular community were prevented from going there. We did not stop anyone from any community. Those who went to the Kumbh with the right intentions were respected. Those who went with malicious intent and tried to create chaos got the consequences they deserved," he said.
Adityanath further commented, "We did not play with religion like you. During your tenure, the Chief Minister did not even have time to review the Kumbh arrangements. You appointed people who were not even Hindus to manage the Kumbh Mela." Referring to Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, he said, "As for us, I personally supervised the Kumbh arrangements. In 2013, every visitor to the Kumbh witnessed chaos, corruption, and pollution. At that time, there was not even enough water in the Triveni Sangam for a proper bath. The Prime Minister of Mauritius even refused to bathe in the Triveni Sangam back then."
Adityanath's comments came as a response to the ongoing debates and allegations about the management of the Kumbh Mela and the unfortunate deaths that occurred during the event.
