In a tragic incident, a woman working in the Railway Department killed her husband in a gruesome manner, driven by her desire to secure a government job. The incident took place in Najibabad, Uttar Pradesh. Initially, the woman convinced everyone that her husband, Deepak Kumar, had died due to a heart attack. However, the post-mortem report revealed that Deepak had been strangled to death.
Deepak, who worked in the carriage and wagon department in Najibabad, lived with his wife, Shivani, in a rented house in Adarsh Nagar. The couple had married out of love.
On April 4, Shivani told Deepak's family that he had suffered a heart attack. She took him to a private hospital and later to a community health center, but doctors refused to admit him. By the time he was being transferred to the district hospital in Bijnor, he was declared dead.
Deepak's family noticed injuries on his neck, leading them to raise suspicions. They reported the incident to the police, and a post-mortem examination was conducted. The report confirmed that Deepak had been strangled. Based on a complaint from Deepak’s brother, Piyush (alias Mukul), the police filed a case against Shivani and an unknown accomplice.
In the initial investigation, Shivani tried to mislead the authorities, but eventually, she admitted to the crime. It was revealed during the investigation that Deepak was eating when the murder occurred. The food was still in his throat. The police confirmed that a rope had been used to strangle him. Deepak had previously worked in the CRPF in Manipur before joining the railways in 2023.
Recently, Deepak had distanced himself from his wife due to strained family relations. The couple had a one-year-old son named Vedant. There are accusations that Shivani may have committed the murder to secure employment and financial benefits under the dependent scheme of her deceased husband.
