Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah addressed the recent Lokayukta case registered against him concerning the Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) land allocation scandal. He clarified that this is the first time a political case has been filed against him but firmly stated that he will not resign from his position as CM. "I have done nothing wrong. This is a political case, please underline that," Siddaramaiah told the media.
When asked about the BJP's protests demanding his resignation, Siddaramaiah responded, "Why should I resign? If someone has done wrong, they should resign. But when I have not done anything wrong, where is the question of resignation?"
He further alleged that the opposition was targeting him because they fear him. Siddaramaiah also accused the central government of misusing agencies like the CBI and ED for political gains. He criticized the central government for using the Governor's office to interfere in opposition-ruled states. In a related move, the Karnataka government withdrew the general consent granted to the CBI, accusing it of bias.
