Wedding Jeep Plunges Into Canal in Haryana, 9 Dead

A tragic accident occurred in Haryana’s Fatehabad district when a wedding jeep lost control and plunged into a canal, resulting in the deaths of nine people. Three others are missing.

A group of 14 people was returning to their hometowns after attending a wedding in Fazilka, Punjab, when their Cruiser vehicle veered off a bridge into the Bhakra canal in Fatehabad. According to district sub-collector Jagdish Chandra, nine people lost their lives, three are missing, and two survived.

Rescue operations are underway, with NDRF and SDRF teams searching for the missing individuals. Among the deceased are a one-and-a-half-year-old child, a ten-year-old girl, and a woman. Authorities have contacted the irrigation department to reduce the water flow in the canal to facilitate the search efforts.
