The Union Cabinet has approved the Jamili Elections Bill, which will soon be introduced in Parliament by the NDA government. The BJP believes that holding simultaneous elections across the country will accelerate development. They argue that staggered elections in each state have been hindering progress. To address this, the NDA government tasked former President Ram Nath Kovind with conducting a study and providing a report on holding elections simultaneously.
The committee led by Ram Nath Kovind completed a comprehensive study and submitted its report, which has now been approved by the Cabinet. The bill is expected to be introduced in Parliament next week.
However, for the bill to pass in Parliament, the cooperation of all political parties is crucial. To secure this, the NDA government has already started extensive efforts. If the bill does not receive approval in Parliament, the government's efforts will be considered unsuccessful. Therefore, the NDA government is treating this bill as a matter of high importance, and its success will be closely watched.
