The Tripura Hotel and Restaurant Owners' Association (THROA) has announced a ban on Bangladeshi nationals from staying in hotels and eating at restaurants in the state. This decision comes in response to allegations of disrespect toward the Indian national flag and reported atrocities against Hindus in Bangladesh.
Additionally, several hospitals in the region have also declared that they will not admit Bangladeshi patients, further intensifying the situation.
The boycott gained momentum online with the hashtag #BoycottBangladesh, reflecting widespread anger and protest. THROA General Secretary Saikat Bandyopadhyay confirmed that the decision was made during an emergency meeting.
This move highlights growing tensions and the significant public sentiment surrounding recent incidents.
