Tamil Nadu Leader of Opposition Edappadi Palaniswami and other AIADMK MLAs were suspended for the entire assembly session due to their disruptive behavior in the matter of arguments regarding the Kallakurichi Hooch tragedy.
The incident occurred when the AIADMK MLAs demanded the adjournment of the question and answer session to discuss the tragedy.
They raised slogans and caused an uproar in the Assembly which led to the disruption of the proceedings.
In response Tamil Nadu Speaker M Appavu ordered the eviction of the AIADMK MLAs from the House.
The Speaker’s decision was made to restore order and ensure the smooth functioning of the assembly.
The AIADMK members’ suspension reflects the gravity of their actions and underscores the assembly's strict stance against disruptions during its sessions.
The suspension means that the AIADMK MLAs will not be able to participate in any further assembly activities for the remainder of the session.
