Jyotirmath's Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwarananda criticized the BJP government for the "incomplete" Ayodhya Ram Temple and accused them of using cows for political gain.
He mocked their election slogan 'Abki baar 400 paar,' expressing surprise that the BJP is only aiming for 400 seats in the Lok Sabha elections instead of all 543.
Speaking to the media in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, he remarked that if Prime Minister Modi is as popular as claimed, the BJP should be targeting all 543 seats.
Swami Avimukteshwarananda, as the Jagadguru Shankaracharya of Jyotirmath in Uttarakhand, reiterated his criticism of the Modi government over the Ayodhya Ram Temple.
He questioned the legitimacy of the temple's consecration ceremony stating that it violates Vedic principles. He argued that since the temple is not yet completed, the consecration cannot be valid.
He emphasized that the temple should be consecrated according to proper rituals once construction is finished allowing all devotees to visit and worship.
In his words, "No Sanatani can claim that the construction work of the Lord Shri Ram temple in Ayodhya has been completed. When the construction of the temple has not been completed, then how can the consecration take place?"
