Strict Restrictions: Air Quality in Delhi Worsens Further

Delhi's air quality has deteriorated significantly, reaching the Severe Plus category for the first time this season. According to weather department officials, the Air Quality Index (AQI) surged to 481 on Monday morning, prompting the issuance of an orange alert. In response, the Delhi government has implemented stringent measures under Stage 4 of its pollution control plan, effective immediately.

Key Restrictions:

Truck Ban: Entry of trucks into Delhi has been prohibited, except for those providing essential services.

Commercial Vehicle Restrictions: Light commercial vehicles registered outside Delhi are barred from entering the city. BS4 and older diesel transport vehicles are also banned.

Construction Halt: All construction activities in Delhi have been temporarily suspended.

Education Adjustments: Schools have been advised to conduct online classes, and government colleges have been ordered to shut temporarily.

Workplace Measures: Government offices are directed to operate at 50% capacity, while central government employees are recommended to work from home.

These measures aim to curb pollution levels and protect public health during this critical period.
