Samajwadi Party leader Ram Gopal Yadav stirred controversy by calling the newly built Ram Temple in Ayodhya 'useless' and criticizing its design saying it doesn't follow Vaastu principles.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath condemned Yadav's remarks by accusing the INDI Alliance of playing politics with faith.
The BJP leaders also condemned Yadav's comments by labeling them as insulting to Ram Mandir and indicative of the INDI Alliance's alleged agenda against Sanatan Dharma.
BJP spokesperson, named Shehzad Poonawala, slammed Yadav by highlighting the significance of Ram Mandir and accusing the Samajwadi Party of hurting the sentiments of the devotees of Lord Ram.
Another BJP leader Sudhanshu Trivedi has also questioned Yadav's priorities by contrasting his criticism of Ram Mandir but with his support for other projects like the Haj House in Ghaziabad and the Agra Mughal Garden.
Former Congress leader Acharya Pramod Krishnam questioned Yadav's credibility and suggested his focus on Vaastu contradicts his role in weakening the Samajwadi Party.
Yadav's comments sparked debate and drew criticism from various political quarters and highlighting the sensitive nature of religious sentiments in Indian politics.
