Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde accused former CM Uddhav Thackeray of pleading with PM Modi for relief from central agencies but later changing his stance in Maharashtra. He claimed Thackeray sought BJP’s support before aligning with Congress, betraying Balasaheb Thackeray’s ideology.
Shinde alleged that Thackeray’s faction had “mortgaged” the Shiv Sena’s "bow and arrow" symbol to the Congress and Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA). He also accused them of embracing Aurangzeb’s ideology, questioning their right to invoke Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
Thackeray dismissed the allegations, sarcastically stating that Shinde had been in Modi’s “dustbin” at the time. Defending Maharashtra’s legacy, he condemned political exploitation of Aurangzeb’s grave issue. He also criticized the BJP-led "double engine government," calling it ineffective and questioning its inaction regarding Aurangzeb’s grave, which remains under central protection.
