Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati, the 46th Shankaracharya of the Jyotish Peeth in Uttarakhand recently visited the Delhi residence of AAP MP Raghav Chadha and actor Parineeti Chopra. Known as the Jagadguru it is uncommon for the Shankaracharya to visit private homes.
Chadha and Chopra along with family members warmly received him by performing an aarti and offering traditional respects including Chadha touching his feet. The couple who married last year in Udaipur at a ceremony attended by friends, family and public figures performed a puja in the Shankaracharya's presence and sought his blessings.
They also engaged in a conversation with him. The title of Shankaracharya is held by the heads of four prominent Hindu monasteries established by philosopher Adi Shankara in the 8th century with seats in Odisha, Uttarakhand, Karnataka and Gujarat.
