Serious Accident in UP: Goods Trains Collide, Two Loco Pilots Hurt

A major accident occurred on the Dedicated Freight Corridor railway line when two goods trains collided on Tuesday morning at around 8 AM. The impact was so severe that the engine and the guard coach of one of the trains derailed. This track is exclusively used for freight trains.

Both loco pilots sustained serious injuries and were immediately taken to the hospital for treatment. Following the accident, senior railway officials arrived at the site to conduct an investigation.

According to reports, a goods train was stationary on the track near Pambhipur, located between Kanpur and Fatehpur, as the signal was red. Meanwhile, another goods train approached from behind at high speed and rammed into the stationary train. Due to the intense collision, the engine and the guard coach of the halted train were thrown off the tracks.

Since this railway corridor is used exclusively for freight trains, passenger train services remained unaffected. However, the accident has disrupted commercial rail traffic. Several goods trains have been halted, while others have been rerouted.

The railway administration has launched an investigation to determine the exact cause and circumstances leading to the accident.
