The Rajasthan government has introduced a sensational bill on religious conversions in the state assembly.
According to the bill, individuals who wish to convert must apply to the district collector at least two months in advance. Permission will be granted only if they declare that the decision was made voluntarily without any coercion.
If Scheduled Castes (SCs), Scheduled Tribes (STs), women, or minors are forced or encouraged to convert, the punishment will range from 2 to 10 years of imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 25,000.
