Seema Haider has requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to grant her permission to stay in India. She said that although she is originally a daughter of Pakistan, she now considers herself a daughter-in-law of India and pleaded to be allowed to remain in the country. A video related to her appeal is currently going viral on social media.
It is known that recently, 26 tourists lost their lives in a terrorist attack in Pahalgam. Following that, the Indian government took strict measures against Pakistan. India announced the cancellation of SAARC visas and instructed all Pakistani citizens who had already entered the country to leave within a week. After this, demands surfaced to deport Seema Haider back to Pakistan.
In the viral video, Seema Haider can be heard saying, "I do not wish to return to Pakistan. I am now under India’s shelter, and I request Modi Ji and Yogi Ji to allow me to stay here. I am a daughter of Pakistan, but now I am a daughter-in-law of India. Please let me stay here."
Seema also mentioned that she converted to Hinduism after marrying Sachin Meena. She had first connected with Sachin, a resident of Greater Noida, through the online game PUBG. Their friendship blossomed into love, and later she crossed into India via Nepal along with her four children. Seema and Sachin currently reside together in Noida and recently welcomed a daughter.
Despite protests emerging across the country, Seema Haider’s lawyer, A.P. Singh, expressed confidence that she would be granted permission to stay in India. He stated that she is no longer a Pakistani citizen, emphasizing her marriage to Sachin Meena and the birth of their daughter. He also said that her citizenship status is now linked to her Indian husband. Seema reportedly expressed deep sorrow over the Pahalgam attack.
