The non-performing assets (NPAs) of public sector banks stand at 3.09%, according to Pankaj Chaudhary, Minister of State for Finance.
He informed the Rajya Sabha that as of September 30, 2024, public sector banks had sanctioned loans worth Rs 3.16 lakh crore.
In comparison, the NPAs in private sector banks amount to Rs 1.34 lakh crore, equivalent to 1.86%.
The Minister emphasized that this figure is significantly lower than the 3.09% reported by public sector banks.
