Rs 27,000 Cr In 18 Months

Former Union Minister Anurag Thakur criticized the Himachal Pradesh Congress government for taking over Rs 27,000 crore in loans in just 18 months. Speaking in his Hamirpur constituency, including the home seat of Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, Thakur claimed the government lacks funds for development despite the heavy borrowing.

He accused the Congress of imposing taxes on electricity, water, roads, education and health while cutting the electricity subsidy provided by the previous BJP government. Thakur also highlighted poor road conditions across the state including in Nadaun.

He emphasized that the Congress is more focused on collecting money from people than giving back. Thakur further mentioned that the BJP has enrolled over 16.5 lakh primary members in the state and continues to grow. He stressed the importance of addressing the needs of party workers whom he described as the backbone of the party.
