The seat-sharing dispute in the INDIA alliance has created tension ahead of the Jharkhand Assembly elections. Parties like JMM, Congress, RJD, CPI, CPM, CPI(ML), and MMC had initially agreed to contest together. However, finalizing the number of seats for each party has become a challenge.
On Saturday, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren announced that Congress and JMM would contest in 70 out of the 81 seats. This declaration has upset the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD).
RJD spokesperson Manoj Kumar Jha accused Hemant Soren of making a unilateral decision without consulting them. Jha hinted that the RJD is open to all possibilities and may even contest independently if necessary, asserting their ability to win 15-18 seats on their own.
