Lok Sabha proceedings were disrupted twice on Thursday following BJP MP Nishikant Dubey’s remarks accusing Rahul Gandhi of alleged links to a US-based billionaire.
Speaking during Zero Hour, Dubey claimed the Congress-led opposition had attempted to disrupt parliamentary sessions based on reports by the Organised Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP), which raised concerns about the billionaire’s alleged activities.
Congress members strongly opposed Dubey’s statements, leading to chaos in the House. Despite repeated calls for order, protests escalated, forcing Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla to adjourn the session until 2 PM.
The incident highlights the intensifying political clash between the ruling BJP and the opposition, as allegations of impropriety against corporate entities become central to the ongoing debate. It underscores the heightened tensions in Parliament, with both sides refusing to back down amidst accusations and counter-accusations.
