Rahul Gandhi In Vietnam On Vacation

The BJP criticized Congress MP Rahul Gandhi for traveling to Vietnam for New Year celebrations during a national mourning period for former PM Manmohan Singh, who passed away on December 26 at 92.

BJP IT Cell Chief Amit Malviya alleged that Gandhi’s actions reflected disrespect, accusing the Congress of politicizing Singh’s death and harboring animosity toward Sikhs, referencing past events like Indira Gandhi's desecration of the Darbar Sahib.

The BJP also slammed Congress for allegedly neglecting to collect Singh’s remains, while Congress accused the BJP of denying Singh a proper cremation site. Congress defended Rahul Gandhi’s trip, stating it was private and irrelevant to public discourse.

BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonwalla criticized Gandhi for prioritizing travel over national grief, also referencing his behavior during past crises. Singh, known for his role in India’s economic reforms, was cremated with full state honors, attended by key dignitaries.
