Punjabi Actress Sonia Mann Joins AAP

Punjabi actress Sonia Mann has joined the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). She joined in the presence of former Delhi Chief Minister and AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal. Her joining was welcomed by the Punjab unit of AAP. The Punjab unit tweeted, "Sonia Mann, the renowned Punjabi actress, has been welcomed into the party under the leadership of AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal."

Sonia's joining has sparked discussions, especially after AAP’s recent defeat in the Delhi Assembly elections. Her political shift comes in the context of significant political developments in the state.

Sonia Mann hails from a family with a rich background. She was born on September 10, 1986, in Haliyas, Uttar Pradesh. She completed her schooling from Holy Heart Presidency School and later pursued her college education at the BBK DAV College for Women in Amritsar, Punjab.

Sonia gained recognition not only in Punjabi cinema but also in other regional film industries. She has acted in various films in Malayalam, Hindi, and Telugu, becoming a well-known face in the Indian entertainment industry. Her debut film was "Wad Eem Sik" in 2014, marking her entry into Hindi cinema. She later starred in "Happy Party" (2016) and "Heer" (2017), which received significant attention.

Alongside her film career, Sonia has collaborated with famous Punjabi singers, including the late famous singer Sebaal, in 2018. This growing recognition in the entertainment world also paved the way for her entry into politics.

Sonia's entry into politics coincides with significant political movements in Punjab. The AAP government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann Singh, formed a government in Punjab after the successful elections in 2022. Meanwhile, AAP's attention is focused on regaining control in Punjab after setbacks in the 2017 elections and keeping its political presence strong in the state.
