Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the Lok Sabha during the discussion on the motion of thanks to the President's speech. He expressed gratitude to the people of India for electing his government for the third consecutive term and stated that the President's address instilled confidence in them.
Focus on Poverty Eradication:
Modi emphasized that poverty eradication remains the top priority of the NDA government.
He claimed that in the last 10 years, 25 crore people have been lifted out of poverty.
Unlike previous governments that only gave slogans like "Garibi Hatao", the Modi government has taken concrete steps to eliminate poverty.
Welfare Initiatives:
The government has provided clean drinking water to every household.
Over 12 crore toilets have been constructed for the poor.
The Ayushman Bharat and Jan Aushadhi centers have made healthcare more affordable.
Rs. 12 lakh income tax exemption has benefited the middle class.
Direct Benefit Transfers (DBT) & Transparency:
Modi criticized previous governments for corruption and leakages in welfare schemes.
He stated that under his government, every rupee sent from Delhi reaches the people without middlemen.
10 crore fake bank accounts were detected and removed.
Infrastructure & Economic Growth:
The government has significantly invested in infrastructure and digital technology.
Ethanol blending in fuel has helped save foreign exchange reserves.
LED bulb prices were reduced from Rs. 400 to Rs. 40, saving Rs. 20,000 crore for citizens.
Corruption-Free Governance:
Modi emphasized that there have been no corruption charges against the central government in the last 10 years.
He took a dig at some leaders, stating that "some politicians built palaces for themselves, while we focused on building houses for the poor."
Political Success:
He credited his government’s good governance for their continuous electoral victories.
The BJP returned to power in Haryana and retained Maharashtra.
PM Modi concluded by stating that India is on its way to becoming the "World Gaming Capital" and a developed nation (Viksit Bharat)
