Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan expressed deep concern, stating that Hindus in India are being silenced under the guise of secularism. He called for the central government to introduce a strong law to protect Sanatana Dharma and ensure its strict implementation. During the Varahi public meeting in Tirupati on Thursday, he released a declaration urging the government to take several steps to safeguard the interests of the Sanatana Dharma.
Pawan Kalyan requested the establishment of a robust law that responds equally to offenses against any religion. He also suggested the formation of a Sanatana Dharma Protection Committee with regular annual funding from the central government. He proposed that all temples follow strict standards for the quality of materials used in prasadam and emphasized the need to transform temples into centers of spirituality, education, arts, economy, and environmental preservation.
Kalyan criticized the lack of response to attacks on Sanatana Dharma, pointing out that while many speak out against offenses to other religions, no one reacts when Hindu deities are targeted. He lamented that in recent times, several attacks have been carried out against Hindu gods and emphasized that Lord Rama is the backbone of the nation. While affirming his respect for all religions, he called for courage and unity to defend Sanatana Dharma against such assaults, regardless of regional or political affiliations.
He expressed frustration that when he practices Sanatana Dharma, he is mocked, including during his recent penance. Kalyan highlighted that some individuals aim to destroy Sanatana Dharma and urged all Hindus to unite. He attributed attacks on Sanatana Dharma to the lack of unity within the Hindu community, which he said has been divided by caste and region. Finally, Kalyan accused the secularism narrative of suppressing Hindu voices.
