Andhra Pradesh Deputy CM, Pawan Kalyan, is currently undergoing an atonement ritual in response to the controversy surrounding the alleged adulteration of Tirumala’s sacred Laddu. As part of his ritual, Pawan Kalyan performed purification rites at the Kanaka Durga Temple in Vijayawada's Indrakeeladri and offered special prayers to the goddess.
While speaking to the media, Pawan Kalyan criticized those who made derogatory comments about the Laddu. He condemned remarks made by actor Karthi, YSRCP's advocate Ponnavolu Sudhakar, and actor Prakash Raj. In particular, they made comments implying that cow ghee was being mixed with other ingredients inappropriately, which Pawan Kalyan found deeply offensive.
Pawan Kalyan admitted that he initially failed to recognize the severity of the situation regarding the Tirumala Laddu and apologized. He has undertaken an 11-day penance and will conclude his ritual by visiting Tirumala on October 1 via the Alipiri steps. On October 2, he will have darshan of Lord Venkateswara and complete his penance, followed by a public meeting (Varahi Sabha) in Tirupati on October 3.
Pawan Kalyan's actions have sparked discussions, especially in light of his previous statements about BJP's stance on Sanatana Dharma and his own personal background, including his marriage to a Russian Christian. His comments on political and religious matters have resurfaced on social media, adding a new dimension to the ongoing discourse.
In the past, Pawan has aligned with the BJP, expressing support for the protection of Hindu traditions. His current involvement in issues related to Sanatana Dharma, coupled with his public displays of devotion, suggest a potential transformation in his political approach, where cultural and religious themes may become more prominent.
