Patanjali Withdraws Red Chilli Powder

Patanjali Foods, a part of Baba Ramdev-led Patanjali Ayurved, has recalled 4 tonnes of red chilli powder (Batch No. AJD2400012) due to pesticide residues exceeding permissible limits, as directed by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI).

The company discovered the issue during testing and has taken steps to notify distribution channels, release public notices, and offer refunds for the recalled products. CEO Sanjeev Asthana emphasized that the affected batch represents a small volume and value.

Patanjali is reassessing its supplier practices and strengthening quality control to comply fully with food safety standards.

The company remains committed to maintaining high-quality products and ensuring a compliant supply chain.
