According to a recent report by the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO), over 50 medications in India, including paracetamol, Pan-D, calcium, vitamin D3 supplements, and anti-diabetic drugs, have been found to be of substandard quality.
The August report highlights drugs like Shelcal, vitamin C soft gels, B-complex, vitamin C and D3, and ciprofloxacin as falling short of required standards.
Other drugs such as telmisartan (used for high blood pressure), atropine sulfate, amoxicillin, and potassium clavulanate were also found to be substandard. CDSCO noted that states like Telangana and others failed to submit quality alert data for August.
