Ongoing Tech Layoffs

Salesforce, a prominent global CRM software provider, has announced large-scale layoff plans. After companies like Amazon, Microsoft, and Google had already announced layoffs in 2025, Salesforce now joins the list of companies reducing their workforce, leading to disappointment among tech employees. Salesforce is actively working on developing new AI-based products and focusing on increasing sales. As part of this transformation, the company is also hiring the required staff while simultaneously carrying out layoffs.

According to a Bloomberg report, Salesforce is laying off over 1,000 employees as part of its restructuring efforts. After laying off nearly 700 employees in January 2024, it let go of another 300 employees in July. These layoffs have extended into 2025.

Despite these layoffs, Salesforce continues to invest in artificial intelligence technology. The company has completed over 1,000 deals since December through its "Agentforce" platform, which creates AI-based virtual sales representatives. CEO Marc Benioff announced this. The company believes that artificial intelligence will play a key role in improving its product portfolio and driving future business and revenue growth.

Salesforce is set to release its quarterly earnings report on February 26. In a memo to employees, CEO Mark Zuckerberg mentioned that the company will now lay off lower-performing employees more quickly. These layoffs are expected to affect around 10% of Meta's workforce by the end of the current performance cycle.
