No 'Work From Home': Amazon Employees To Quit Jobs

After Amazon CEO Andy Jassy announced that employees must return to the office five days a week starting January 2 a Blind survey revealed that 73% of employees are considering quitting. The survey of 2,585 Amazon workers showed 91% were "overwhelmingly dissatisfied" with the mandate and 80% knew a colleague considering leaving.

About 32% mentioned someone had already quit due to the change. Employees expressed that the decision has hurt their morale especially for parents and caregivers who value workplace flexibility. One employee pointed out the challenge for those hired remotely unwilling to relocate due to family commitments and uncertainty over job security.

The survey also highlighted how employees had voiced concerns earlier in February 2023 when a three-day office return was announced but their six-page memo was dismissed.
