No Census This Year Either… Allocations in Budget Merely Nominal

Upon reviewing the Central Budget proposals, it appears that there will be no census conducted this year as well. For this purpose, only Rs 574.80 crore has been allocated in the budget for the year 2025.

In 2021, it was decided to allocate Rs 8,754.23 crore for population enumeration and Rs 3,941.5 crore for the National Population Register (NPR).

Although it was decided to commence the process from April 2020, it could not be implemented due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
