Atishi Marlena has been chosen as the new Chief Minister of Delhi succeeding Arvind Kejriwal who will resign today. She becomes the third woman to hold this position in Delhi following Sushma Swaraj and Sheila Dixit and the second current female Chief Minister in India after Mamata Banerjee.
Atishi's assets total Rs 1.41 crore with no liabilities according to her affidavit. Her assets include Rs 65,000 in cash Rs 1 crore in bank deposits, Rs 18.6 lakh in postal savings and Rs 5 lakh in insurance policies.
Atishi holds an impressive educational background, having studied history at St. Stephen’s College, Delhi University, and completed two master’s degrees from Oxford University.
Before joining AAP, she taught at Rishi Valley School in Andhra Pradesh. In the Delhi government, she manages 11 portfolios, including Finance, Education, and Public Works, the most held by any minister in the cabinet.
