BJP leader Mithun Chakraborty has warned that Hindus in West Bengal could face extinction if the opposition wins the upcoming elections. Speaking at a BJP event in North Barrackpore, he urged Hindus to take pride in their Sanatani identity and participate in the electoral process. He cited Bangladesh as an example, claiming that political unrest there has shown how minorities can be affected.
Mithun emphasized that 9% of Hindus do not vote, urging them to act before it is too late. He also mentioned undisclosed opposition meetings, claiming they would alarm the community. He stressed that voting is crucial for their survival in the state.
The actor-turned-politician joined the BJP in 2021 and played a key role in the party’s campaign against Trinamool Congress. Known for his fiery speeches, he continues to mobilize support ahead of the 2026 West Bengal Assembly elections.
